Requiem Mass In Memory Of The Late Rev. Fr. Peter Kosi Akabu
On the 17th of July 2020, Rev Fr Peter Akabua passed on to his Maker. Today, Tuesday, 4th August 2020, the Bishop of Ho, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu SVD, led a requiem mass in memory of him. In attendance were Bishop Gabriel Ababio Mante, Bishop of Jasikan Diocese, the Ho Diocesan Priests Association, priests and religious from all walks of life, the family, and also Knight of St John International and Ladies Auxiliary. Prior to the mass, various tributes were read in memory of him.
In his homily, the bishop stressed the fact that God can never abandon his own. He is a God who is always with us even in difficult moments. Giving the examples of Jesus and Job in the bible, he said that our redeemer truly lives. He also used the opportunity to admonish the priests and the religious present to follow after the footstep of John Mary Vianey whose feast day we celebrate today. Though not academically sound, he was zealous of the work of God the bishop quickly added.
Bishop Mante in paying his tribute admonished all present about the reality of COVID 19 pandemic and urged all to observe the various protocols seriously.
Let us continue to pray for the peaceful repose of his soul.
