Ho Diocese is located in the Volta Region of Ghana and constitutes ten Administrative Districts, namely: Ho, Kpando and Hohoe municipal areas. Others include, North Dayi, South Dayi, Adaklu, Agortime-Ziope, Ho-West, Afadjato-South Districts and parts of Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region. The Diocese lies within longitudes 12'E and 0 53'E; and latitudes 6 20'N.

The Jasikan District lies in the North of the Ho Diocese while it is bordered in the East by the Republic of Togo. The Southern border is shared with Akatsi and North Tongu Districts while the Volta Lake forms the Western boundary. Ho Diocese covers a total land area of 5893 square kilometers. It is divided into twenty-nine Parishes.

Donation from Tzu Charity Foundation

TZU Chi Charity Foundation Donates PPE to Catholic Health Facilities in the Catholic Diocese of Ho.

The Bishop of Ho, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, today Tuesday, 21st July 2020 handed over some Personal Protective Equipment to the health facilities of his diocese. These PPE were donations from Tzu Chi Charity foundation, a Buddhist Christian charity foundation in India. The items include; disposable medical facemasks, disposable isolation clothings, and hand gloves. These gifts, as stated by the bishop, were through the kind courtesy of  His Eminence, Peter Cardinal Appiah Turkson the former president of the Pontifical Council of Peace and Justice to assist the Catholic churches in Ghana.

The Bishop of Ho Diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD announces with a heavy heart and sorry, the eternal home call of Rev. Fr. Peter Akabua.

He died in the early hours of Friday,  17th July 2020 at the Anfoega Catholic Hospital.

He has since been buried at the Ho Diocesan Priests Cemetary at Sokode-Gbogame.

The Bishop in a circular to all priests, religious and lay faithful stated that, after consultation with his College of Consultors, a date will be announced for a Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the reverend departed.

He however implored all faithful to pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Fr. Akabua.

Until his retirement from public service, he was appointed to be in charge of All Saints Catholic Church, Tokoke in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Shia. Fr. Akabua was a tutor at St. Mary's Seminary SHS, Lolobi, St. Teresa's College of Education, Hohoe and Bishop Herman College, Kpando.

The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ 

(Corpus Christi)

The Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ was celebrated today at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Ho Bankoe. The Mass presided over by the Vicar General Very Rev. Fr. William Horlu. In his homily, he urged the christ's faithful not to be disheartened amidst this COVID 19 pandemic. He said that all we need do is to trust in the ever-abiding presence of the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. He added further that, the Eucharist is the source and summit of all Christian worship. He admonished us to live in communion with Christ and with one another. "We Catholics believe in the Real Presence of Christ because it was Christ himself who said so" was added by him. He continued to explain that all who eat and drink the Body and Blood of Christ will abide in him and he in them since Christ said so himself. Concluding his homily, he urged us to be loving, kind, and tolerant, eschewing all kinds of discriminations and divisions since we all share in the union of the same communion we receive in Christ Jesus. 





The Bishop

On July 14, 2015, The Holy Father appointed Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Fianu, S.V.D., Secretary General of the Council of the Divine Word Fathers as Bishop of Ho (Ghana).

He was ordained a priest on July 14, 1985 in Accra. Since ordination, he has served in the following academic and pastoral roles
